And we’re totally okay with that. Because the same passion, experience, and quest for continual improvement that drives our coffee program also drives our food program. And we love serving it to you too.

SOMETHING GOOD FOR EVERYONE
From hearty burritos to healthy grain bowls, from house-made granola bars to rich, fruity smoothies, our food is made with intention and a focus on quality, and has delicious options for everyone. The simple fact is: we like our delicious specialty coffee with some delicious, high quality food, and we know you do too.

But what is it that keeps our guests’ coming back for breakfast, brunch, lunch, or an afternoon pick-me-up? To please the many palates that seek us out, we offer a compact but diverse selection of food items at most of our coffee shops.
HOW WE DO IT
It’s complicated keeping pastries, salads, and proteins stocked, freshly-made, and uniformly up to par at all locations. To meet those demands, we rely on the expertise and hard work of a back of house crew at each cafe, overseen by culinary director Hector. The menu itself — slightly different at each coffee shop —is born of a collaboration of our culinary leads, senior strategist Frank, and the rest of Kaldi’s Coffee’s leadership.
From the moment our hardworking bakers kick on the ovens in the early hours of the morning to the meticulous end-of-day checklists our general managers and lead baristas perform to ensure accurate tallies, our team members’ attention to detail, passion, and concern for our guests’ optimal experience drive our goals of quality, freshness, and consistency. That scone you grab after a jog to our cafe on Skinker is handmade and baked daily on site, but it has to be identical to the scone you scarf down while studying at Euclid two weeks later. It’s not quantum science, just really skilled bakers!

If we had to put a pin in our exact style of cuisine, it would be something like “pretty healthy but occasionally decadent coffee house comfort food” with a moderate-size dollop of “sweet and savory”. We’re also pleased to point out that all our dressings, sauces, and vinaigrettes are made in-house, and we think it shows.

Nonetheless, we take great pains to make sure that our handmade sandwiches, salads, grain bowls, and pastries are all carefully prepared the same way across all cafes — except for special exceptions like vegetarian options at some of our cafes, of course.

Some Kaldi’s Coffee St. Louis locations are known for being vegetarian, and we’ve committed to maintaining that standard for our regulars. DeMun, the original Kaldi’s Coffee cafe and continuously in operation for the past 26 years, is a popular spot for studying, reading, remote work, or just sipping and chilling. Its menu is flexible enough for the in-and-out customer on the run, or the all day camper with a stack of books or a laptop. Veggie burgers, burritos, and bowls are the go-to main dishes at DeMun, alongside the usual delicious salads and other appetizers like the hummus plate.
One of our more unique locations, Mid-Campus Center or MCC, is also one of our physically smallest locations, and all about the quick bite and brew— especially useful for being located on Washington University’s medical campus in the Barnes-Jewish hospital complex in the Central West End. The menu is small but diverse, with salads, sandwiches, grain bowls, and breakfast items like avocado toast offering an impressive variety of choice. To-go sandwiches and other fare are the popular choice here, alongside a fresh-poured Nitro cold brew or a sweet Matcha latte.
Not too far away, one of Kaldi’s Coffee’s youngest St. Louis cafes, the Euclid, sits squarely in the heart of the Central West End. Grab some quiet time between shifts or after doing some holiday shopping in one of St. Louis’ hippest neighborhoods--or just do some of that shopping here, while kicking back with some avocado toast or a crustless quiche.
Like everything we do, our food menu is consistent but adaptive, ready to change when the next special, healthy ingredient catches our eye or the next “avocado toast” bursts onto the scene.
Kaldi’s on Skinker is the perfect “lunch and learn” study stop near Washington University’s main campus, and only a couple of blocks from the cycling paths and walking trails of beautiful Forest Park. Fortify your mind and body with a sweet pastry, or carb load for your next run or cycle session. Don’t forget to ask for extra candied bacon on your breakfast plate!

Snickerdoodle cookies, peanut butter energy bites, granola bars, coffee cake, pumpkin bread in the fall and other house-made pastries. And don’t forget our made-in-house smoothies! Our menu runs the gamut, but we have a team that’s up to the task and ready to serve you.
