We know you don’t always come to our cafes just for specialty coffee. And we love that, because the same passion and experience that drives our coffee program also keeps us continually improving our food program as we strive to put a smile on your face.
From burritos to avocado toast to seasonal bowls, pastries, and drinks, we’re here to give a little love to the menu items in the Kaldi’s Coffee food program, and all the people that make it happen.
Kaldi's Coffee Avocado Toast
SOMETHING GOOD FOR EVERYONE
Our food is made with intention and a focus on quality, and has delicious options for everyone. The simple fact is: we like our delicious specialty coffee with delicious, high quality food, and we know you do too.
The simple fact is: we like our delicious specialty coffee with some delicious, high quality food, and we know you do too.
But what is it that keeps our guests coming back for breakfast, brunch, lunch, or an afternoon pick-me-up? To please the many palates that seek us out, we offer a compact, but diverse, selection of food items at most of our coffee shops.
HOW WE DO IT
It’s complicated keeping pastries, salads, and proteins stocked, freshly-made, and uniformly up to par at all locations. To meet those demands, we rely on the expertise and hard work of our back of house crews at each cafe, overseen by our retail directors. The menu itself — slightly different at each coffee shop —is born of a collaboration of our culinary leads, senior strategist Frank McGinty, and the rest of Kaldi’s Coffee’s leadership.
From the moment our hardworking bakers fire up the ovens in the early hours of the morning, to the meticulous end-of-day checklists our general managers and lead baristas perform to ensure accurate preparation for the next day, our team members’ attention to detail drives our goals of quality, freshness, and consistency.
That scone you grab after a jog to our cafe on Skinker is handmade and baked daily on site, but it has to be identical to the scone you snack on slowly while studying at Euclid two weeks later. It’s not quantum science, just really skilled bakers, great training, and that keen attention to detail.

If we had to put a pin in our exact style of cuisine, it would be something like “pretty healthy but occasionally decadent coffee house comfort food”. We’re also pleased to point out that all our dressings, sauces, and vinaigrettes are made in-house, and we think it shows.

EVERY CAFE IS A LITTLE DIFFERENT
Come with us as we virtually visit a few of our cafes.
Some Kaldi’s Coffee St. Louis locations are known for being vegetarian, and we’ve committed to maintaining that standard for our long-time guests. DeMun, the original Kaldi’s Coffee cafe, continuously in operation for the past 26 years, is a popular spot for studying, reading, remote work, and socializing. Its menu is flexible enough for the in-and-out customer on the run, or the all day camper with a stack of books or a laptop. Veggie burgers, burritos, and bowls are the main go-to dishes at DeMun, which is one of two vegetarian cafes, along with Farrell, located on the Washington University Medical School’s campus.
One of our more unique locations, the MCC, is located in Washington University’s Mid-Campus Center amid the Barnes Jewish hospital complex in Midtown, is also one of our most stream-lined locations, and all about the quick bite and brew. The menu is small but diverse, with salads, sandwiches, grain bowls, and breakfast items like avocado toast offering an impressive variety of choice. Over the years, it has offered busy medical professionals a safe retreat from their hectic and stressful schedules. Our focus on freshly prepared dishes matched with friendly and efficient service has made to-go orders of our sandwiches and salads the popular choices here, alongside fresh, tap-poured Nitro cold brew.
Not too far away, one of Kaldi’s Coffee’s youngest St. Louis cafes, the Euclid, sits squarely in the heart of the Central West End. Grab some quiet time between shifts, after doing some shopping, or while strolling through one of St. Louis’ densest and most historic neighborhoods.
Like everything we do, our food menu is consistent but adaptive, ready to change when the next special, healthy ingredient catches our eye or the next “avocado toast” bursts onto the scene.
Kaldi’s on Skinker is the perfect “lunch and learn” study stop near Washington University’s main campus, and only a couple of blocks from the cycling paths and walking trails of beautiful Forest Park. Fortify your mind and body with a sweet pastry, or carb load for your next run or cycle session.

CHANGE WITH A SIDE OF CONSISTENCY
Like everything we do, our food menu is consistent but adaptive, ready to change when the next special, healthy ingredient catches our eye or the next “avocado toast” bursts onto the scene. We keep things fresh by regularly offering seasonal bakery and menu items, staying nimble to keep pace with our ever-changing industry.
The thing that doesn’t change, however, is our commitment to quality and service, and we want you to have incredible experiences every time you walk in the door.
