This Cupping Room Series release combines something new and exciting with something very familiar. We've known the Imbachis for 17 years, first meeting them when Kaldi's Coffee owner Tyler Zimmer traveled to Colombia in 2009. In 2015, we bought our first lot from Carlos and we have been proud to offer coffee from his family farm, Finca Buenavista, every year since.
In early 2020, we released the first ever harvest of the Gesha variety from Carlos Imbachi. First planted in 2016, it took several seasons of patience and hard work to produce coffee's most prized varietal and we were thrilled to be the first to offer it to you. Vibrant with notes of cherry and honeysuckle, it was a lot that was at once delicious and ripe with potential.
This year, we bring you our third Gesha offering from the Imbachis. It's everything you want out of the Gesha variety: juicy citrus notes, soft stone fruits, and delicate florals. We especially love how it transforms in the cup as it cools: when hot, you'll notice the jasmine florals and subtle blackberry notes, and as it cools the vibrancy of its citrus and sweetness all come folding in.
This Gesha is grown in the mountainous, biodiverse southern region of Huila, Colombia. The family's 1,000 trees are shade-grown beneath native Guama trees. After harvesting the Gesha, the coffee is depulped, fermented, and washed. It is then dried for over a week before beginning its long journey to the Kaldi's Coffee Roastery.
Experience the latest and greatest from the Imbachi family before it's gone!

We offer three different grind sizes on the vast majority of our coffee offerings: drip, espresso, and French press.
- Use drip grind if you plan on making your coffee using a coffee machine, in a pour over brewer, or if you want to try a newer way to make your trusty French press.
- Use espresso grind if you have an espresso machine at home. This grind will be very fine and will over-extract (in other words, taste bitter and chalky) in other methods.
- Use French press grind if you are making a coffee in the more traditional French Press method, or making cold brew, or do very large batches in a Chemex (greater than 60 grams of coffee).

Please visit our brewing page here. Coffee brewing is as much an art as it is a science, and it might take a few tries for you to find a sweet-spot that matches your taste preference. We recommend not getting too lost in the "right" way to brew, but instead focus on what you like and try to educate yourself on some best practices. And then just take it from there!
That said, we offer several how-to's for many popular brewers:

Our blends run from medium-light to dark. You can get a full breakdown of the blends in our Blend Buying Guide.
Core Blends include:
700 is our medium-roast core espresso blend that also tastes great as drip.
Cafe Kaldi has been our house blend since 1994. It contains coffee from Ethiopia that gives it a touch of complexity.

Highlander Grogg is a fan-favorite flavored coffee.
