Bringing in a small lot from our longtime partner Emilio Lopez Diaz has become a favorite yearly tradition for us. In this naturally processed Caturra lot, we get big, complex, and diverse fruity notes ranging from grapes to stone fruits to berries. It's a coffee with a lot to explore: try it in a V60 to dive into its lighter lingonberry and peach notes, or make it in a Kalita to get big notes of grape with a nougat sweetness.
MORE INFO:
We love El Salvadorian coffee season. With delicious sweetness and soft, pleasing acidity, coffees from this region are always fan-favorites. Even better, some of our longest lasting partnerships hail from El Salvador, most notably with Emilio Lopez Diaz and the Pacas family.
We are proud to once again present the work of La Cumbre farm. Founded in 1872 by Mr. Cornelio Lemus (great-grandfather of Margarita Lucia Diaz de Lopez), the farm has remained in the family for five generations now and the care and cultivation that it brings is apparent from the first sip. Now operated by Emilio Lopez Diaz, the farm has spent much of the last 16 years experimenting with new processing methods and varietals, including Gesha, Pacamara, SL-34, and a range of Bourbons. This particular selection is completely made up of Caturra, a variety well known and loved for its high cup quality.
