Our recipe calls for matcha from our friends at Firepot Nomadic Teas. You can buy the Amai matcha on our website, their website, or in one of our Kaldi's Coffee cafes. We specifically use Amai matcha here, with the "Amai" meaning sweet in Japanese. The matcha is combined with organic cane sugar to give your drink sweetness without having to add any extras.

Ingredients

  • Amai Matcha, 1.5 tbsp
  • 1 oz hot water
  • Ice
  • Milk or Alt Milk (Oat, Soy, Almond, Coconut, Cashew), 8 or 9oz
  • We recommend using a Matcha Whisk to fully incorporate the matcha

Directions

  1. Mix 1.5 tbsp sweet matcha powder with 1 oz. of hot water in serving cup
  2. Whisk with small bamboo whisk until all of the powder is dissolved (10 – 20 sec). We like doing a figure 8 motion.
  3. While stirring, pour 8oz of cold milk or alternative milk into the cup with matcha
  4. Add ice to taste
