We are proud to present the work of Nano Genji for the third time. This year, we have selected lot #6 after releasing #5 in 2021. Fans of that coffee will recognize some of its delightful fruitiness, but this year's version also has some exciting new tastes in store.
The Oromia region is widely known for its supreme quality. This particular coffee was mechanically washed then soaked for 12 hours, and its excellence is a testament to the work of a cooperative that pays its members high premiums and relentlessly focuses on quality from picking to processing.
The taste profile could be best described as tropical fruits and citrus up front with a healthy dose of pleasant bitters. Those bitters come in the form of a pink grapefruit during the first part of the drinking experience, and we notice a very interesting tropical hops quality on the finish. It's a little bit similar to drinking a West Coast IPA. When paired with an oolong tea quality, you get a coffee that is fresh, exciting, and a gives a slightly different take on one of coffee's most famed origins.
