Coffees of El Salvador are known for their stunningly sweet, balanced profiles. They’re often a crowd favorite, and we love to grab small lots whenever we can. This naturally processed lot comes to us from Finca La Providencia, a multi-generation farm run by father and daughter Carlos and Yanira Mendoza. Having both been born on the farm, the pair brings an enduring love for the land to their work, and produces lovely coffees like this rich, fruity natural.
Finca La Providence is one of many farms to work with Café Pacas, an exporter doing excellent work with many small producers throughout the country. The team at Café Pacas has implemented a wide array of programs for their producing partners, covering everything from education to emotional intelligence and self-care workshops. Their commitment to social responsibility is a wonderful example of sustainability in a country that’s seeing many coffee producers leave the industry due to production decline. The results — both in livelihood on the farm and quality in the cup — are encouraging.
