Position: Senior Accountant

Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Strong analytical and accounting skills
• Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Word and MS Excel, or similar programs
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of accounting software packages; QuickBooks preferred
• Intermediate knowledge of data visualization and analytic packages; Microsoft Power BI preferred
• Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment
• Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with high level of complexity
• The individual will be expected to work with minimal up-front guidance and take ownership of their work product

Education / Experience

• Bachelors of Science in Accounting or equivalent from an accredited university
• Three years of progressive experience in the accounting industry, preferably Food & Beverage or manufacturing industry

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist in day-to-day tasks related to A/P, A/R, credit card expenses, bank reconciliation
• Prepare weekly and monthly KPI’s for management review
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements for use internally as well as to provide to external parties
• Assist with Full Year budgets and provide analysis on Actual to Budget variances
• Prepare and submit monthly sales tax returns and payments to local taxing authority
• Assist in the month end closing and financial reporting process including account analysis and reconciliation
• The individual will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer of the Company
