The Holidays are a Time of Nostalgia
And what better way to ring them in than with a blend composed of wistful, classic coffees. This mix of a dry-processed lot from Ethiopia and a wet-hulled offering from Sumatra calls back to the original coffee blend, Mocha Java.
This year’s Ethiopian component is a dry-processed coffee grown by single producer Haile Gebreselassie in the Sheka zone. It lends the blend its rich, deep fruitiness. The Sumatran component comes from the famed Aceh region in northern Sumatra, this year coming from KOKOWAGAYO, a woman owned and managed cooperative. Here the coffees are processed in the “wet hull” method that has made Sumatra famous for their flavor profile.
Together, these coffees create our version of one of the world’s original coffee blends, Mocha Java.

Since its inception, ‘Tis the Season has combined our love of coffee sourcing with The Firecracker Press’s imaginative design work. This partnership, which started as a way to create a nostalgic taste for the holidays, has since become a source of nostalgia itself.
