Excellent, sweet washed coffees. If we had to define what we look for in our coffee selections, that would be it. This offering from Adelmo Ramirez Rivera exemplifies that mission.
Growing up, Adelmo Ramirez Rivera could only reach the 3rd grade because of his family's struggles to make ends meet. However, his hard-working family, and especially his father, taught him to work the land to produce coffee, corn, and beans. At only 13, Adelmo had to take full responsibility for the land after the passing of his father. In 2003, and much later in his life, he sought to give his own children a better, brighter future, and he became fully invested in coffee. In recent years, he has received the full support of programs like AHPROCAFE and IHCAFE, which has allowed him to find new buyers and receive higher, fairer premiums for his work. We consider ourselves lucky to be among them.
When this sample arrived at our cupping table, we found its sweetness, clarity, and vibrancy irresistible. Along with other annual releases like Mexico Sicobi, Congo Muungano, and Colombia Familia Imbachi, we are enamored by the quality of its production and processing, which shines through in its clean, sweet flavor profile. Look for vibrant tastes of cherries and stone fruits with a lovely bittersweet chocolate finish in this excellent coffee.
