Kaldi's Health & Wellness Initiative

Kaldi’s inaugural Health and Wellness Plan officially launched on March 1st. Our intent is to keep our team active and have fun while doing it. The inaugural plan includes monthly presentations on Wellness Wednesday’s at 3:30 by Dr. Seth Gerlach and Dr. Tyler Bryant. Dr. Gerlach covers topics such as macronutrients, gut microbiota, and the power of healing yourself with food. Dr. Bryant focuses on preventative and rehabilitative measures to treat musculoskeletal pain, and developing workplace ergonomics.  

Every Wellness Wednesday at 4:30, we host an hour training session open to our entire team. Cameron Ankele, Tech Department Manager and former personal trainer, and John Gast, Roaster/QC and former MLB pitcher host high intensity interval trainings for those that like to go hard in the paint. To contrast Cam and John’s intense workouts, Jake Browning, Coffee Team Lead, will occasionally lead the team in a round of "Sweatin to the Oldies." Additionally, Kaldi’s will reimburse Team Members if they attend a gym of their choice ten times a month.

In the spirit of continual improvement, we’re holding friendly 50-day fitness challenges named Kaldi’s Fit. Teams of four receive one point for activities such as playing Frisbee and taking walks; two points for biking, hiking etc.; and three points for activities such as weight training, swimming, and hot yoga. Team Members receive double point for attending Kaldi’s sponsored events like MS150 and Go Saint Louis. 11 teams are participating in our first effort!
